'Doctor Who Confidential' Canceled

Since Doctor Who was revived in 2005 the show has always been followed by Doctor Who Confidential on BBC3. Doctor Who Confidential is a behind-the-scenes documentary style show in which the viewers are treated to cast interviews and an inside look at how the show is put together and why certain scenes made it into the episode.

The Guardian revealed today that the BBC plans to cancel Doctor Who Confidential after this season; which only has one episode left this coming Saturday. The BBC has been facing budget cuts across the board of up to 20 percent and BBC controller, Zai Bennett, has decided that Doctor Who Confidential has had its time and it should come to an end. It is a fine silver lining to know that the show is being canceled due to financial reasons and not lack of viewership but then again if viewership were higher would Doctor Who Confidential have been targeted?

Though it might not bring the show back, a twitter account to Save DWC has been created and already has 5,110 followers (as of this post). This will at least show the BBC how loyal Doctor Who fans can be and that they'd love to see Doctor Who Confidential return someday.
