Disney interested in purchasing Hasbro!

Fresh from the announcement of their purchase of LucasFilm, rumor has it that Disney is now interested in buying the toy company Hasbro.

According to MTV Geek, Disney is in talks to purchase Hasbro which has put out successful games such as Monopoly and Hungry Hungry Hippos, and movies such as Transformers and G.I. Joe.

"The Transformers and G.I. Joe films are with Paramount, but as we saw with Marvel, that could easily change. The animated series are with The Hub, along with Beyblade, Kaijudo, and others, and it’s not clear how that channel would fit into Disney’s plans. They could be folded into Disney XD, and the girls brands folded into Disney Channel. On the comics’ side this would be bad news for IDW, just as the Marvel acquisition was for BOOM! and the Lucasfilm acquisition is likely to be for Dark Horse."
Although it is not official as of yet, it is being said that the purchase of Hasbro could happen at any time. If the purchase goes through, Disney will own some of the biggest companies currently out there. First Marvel fell, then LucasFilm, and now Hasbro? The merchandise from these companies alone will make Disney enough money to shut down and remain one of the biggest grossing companies.

My Little Pony fans should also take a special note of this acquisition since Disney will be taking control of the beloved ponies. As property of Hasbro, My Little Pony is sure to feel the Disney push. The new hit television show My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic could even make a move over to the Disney Channel or Disney XD.

We should start creating a set of mouse ears for planet Earth because it's only a matter of time before Disney owns that as well.

A big thank you to Realm Beyond Sight reader, Jackie, for the topic submission!
