Harley, Catwoman, and Ivy play around in Arkham Asylum's backyard as children!

Image
Take a look at this adorable piece if fan art titled 'Lil Gotham Sirens' created by artist Cynthia Rodgers. The piece features our favorite female villains from Batman's Gotham City; Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy. It is well drawn and captures the personality of each character. Take a look at how both Harley and Catwoman are about to attack that robin as Ivy has fun with her plants in the background! Nicely done, Cynthia!

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer takes on Star Wars in this fantastic The Empire Strikes Back mash-up!

Image
Star Wars fans will remember the scene where Luke Skywalker is patrolling the landscape of the ice planet Hoth in the beginning of The Empire Strikes Back. However, they may not remember it quite like this. This great piece of art mashes up Star Wars with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. It features Hermy the elf as Luke Skywalker riding on Rudolph (his tauntaun). But they should look out behind them as the The Abominable Snow Monster of the North, a.k.a. "The Bumble", (the Wampa) is right behind them!

Video game inspired movie posters!

Image
Video games did not have a great start in the movie industry with their adaptations (Prince of Persia, Super Mario Bros. The Movie, and Double Dragon, Street Fighter) but with fans of games stepping up to direct the next wave of video game film adaptations, great things could really be on the way.

Artist Ian Wilding came up with these fantastic pieces that turn some of our favorite video games into movies. Take a look at movie posters for Super Mario Galaxy, Portal, Super Metroid, and Shadow of the Colossus. In terms of the posters, my vote for the best goes to Super Mario Galaxy. However, if these were turned into an actual film the best would be Super Metroid and Shadow of the Colossus. Which poster(s) do you like and which would make the best films?

With influences coming from the movie Alien as well, this is a lot of fun! Enjoy!

Find out why Gandalf really doesn't use the Eagles to make his adventures shorter!

Image
Fans of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit have always wondered why Gandalf and his group never just used the Eagles to fly over to Mordor (The Lord of the Rings) or the Lonely Mountains (The Hobbit). Fans of course know the real reason given by Tolkien but still wonder why. "Why couldn't the Eagles just fly them part of the way?" or "Why couldn't the Eagles fly in a route that would be safer to travel so they wouldn't be seen by Sauron's forces?" Well, artists Andy Kluthe and Andrew Bridgeman have created a funny comic that gives fans an alternate reason on why Gandalf chose not to ask the Eagles to fly them to their destination.

Pokemon fans will have laughed pretty hard at the end of this comic recognizing the item in Gandalf's hand as a Pokewalker from Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. This game accessory was a pedometer that would train a single Pokemon that you had inside it with every step that you took. So it's no wonder Gandalf w…

GLaDOS voice from Portal confirmed in Pacific Rim!

Image
Fans of the video game Portal all cried out in celebration when they first saw the Pacific Rim trailer by director Guillermo del Toro. Although fans weren't sure if it actually was, the computer voice heard in the trailer sounded exactly like the character GLaDOS from the Portal games. Well, the truth is out and it confirms the fact that it is GLaDOS from Portal!

Del Toro, who is a fan of the game, had hired voice actor Ellen McLain (voice of GLaDOS in Portal) for Pacific Rim but it was not revealed what she would be doing for the film. Forbes has come forward and confirmed that McLain was hired to be the computer voice for the movie but even more impressive is that she is doing the same exact voice in the movie as she did for GLaDOS. Del Toro even ran the voice through nearly the same alteration process as Portal so that it would sound identical to the game.

How do you feel about GLaDOS' voice being in the film? Do you think it may distract fans when they hear her or will t…

New Oz: The Great and Powerful poster features the Wicked Witch and her new look!

Image
Disney has just released a new poster for Sam Raimi's Oz: The Great and Powerful and it features the Wicked Witch and her new look. It feels weird seeing a sexy poster for the Wicked Witch. But hey, that's what we got! Though I love the tattered look that her outfit has on the skirt. Very nicely done. What do you think of the Wicked Witch's new look?

Oz: The Great And Powerful will open in theaters March 8th, 2013.

NASA reveals a new spacesuit that looks like Buzz Lightyear's!

Image
NASA has just unveiled their new spacesuit that they are looking to have ready by 2015. However, this new prototype looks strangely familiar.

The new Z-1 spacesuit looks as though it was designed after a particular Space Ranger from the Toy Story franchise. That's right, it looks almost identical to Buzz Lightyear!

Some of the Z-1's functions will be:

"Astronauts will be able to climb into it as quickly as you see in films, and not take an hour as they do now. The new suit will also effectively be its own airlock, dispensing with the need to spend time getting the pressure right.

The 'Z-1 Prototype Spacesuit and Portable Life Support System (PLSS) 2.0', to give it its full title, will hopefully be ready in the next couple of years.

On the rear will be a giant backpack which doubles as a hatch that can latch onto another space ship or Rover-like vehicle. There is therefore no need for ‘Prebreathing’ which involves using oxygen to make sure the suit is the sam…

The Twilight Zone may return to television on CBS!

Image
Fans of the horror/fantasy/sci-fi genres have something to truly be excited about; the return of The Twilight Zone! Although we have heard rumors about this possibly happening in the past it appears that this could be the time where it actually comes true.

Of course this isn't the first time the show has come back. After its original run from 1959-1964 the show returned in 1985 for three seasons. Looking for a modern revival UPN brought the show back in 2002. However, it only lasted a single season.

Right now CBS Studios and Brian Singer are in early talks to bring the franchise back to television. Brian Singer is set to be the show's executive producer but there is yet no word on who the writer for the show will be.

With genre shows booming at the moment, this could be the perfect time to bring the show back. But will the writer(s) be able to keep things as fresh and new as the original show? If they can, there is no reason this show wouldn't be an instant hit.

Would you …

First official image of the new TARDIS interior on Doctor Who is released by the BBC!

Image
It's finally here!! The BBC has released the first official image of the new TARDIS interior that will be seen on the "The Snowmen", the Christmas Special of the sci-fi show Doctor Who! Thanks to our friends at Blogtor Who you can see the great image below.

The photo features Matt Smith, the Doctor, standing in his new TARDIS console room that has a throwback look to the classics. (It also looks like the interior to the carnival ride The Gravitron!) I think it looks incredible. Buttons, levers, and switches can be seen every in this picture and I can't wait to see what they all do. I'm also curious what the panel on the left side of the photo does.

Many fans are wondering why the show has decided to change the TARDIS interior now and not wait a little longer before doing it. This is the perfect time however. When we see the Doctor in "The Snowmen" it appears that quite some time has passed since Amy and Rory have left him and we are about to get a new…

Doctor Who's Christmas Special gets another prequel from Steven Moffat! [video]

It seems that Steven Moffat thought the upcoming Christmas Special to Doctor Who, titled "The Snowmen", needed a little more build up and has given us another prequel! The new prequel is titled "Vastra Investigates - A Christmas Prequel" and it features the Silurian Madame Vastra (Neve McIntosh) along with Jenny (Catrin Stewart) and Commander Strax (Dan Starkey).

All in all, this prequel boils down to the very last line that there is snow falling but no clouds. So how is the snow falling?

The Legend of Zelda - Pot Smasher [video]

Image
That mischievous Link (The Legend of Zelda) is up to his hijinks again! Link has known that a great way to get rupees is to smash pots that he finds but in this video, Link will find the best place for an endless supply of rupees. The Hyrule Castle Guard standing at attention in the room however is less than thrilled to see what Link has in store for the precious clay pots.

Heading out to Utah, where the video was shot, and taking on the role of Link is Lindsey Stirling (most notable for her violin videos) while the Hyrule Castle Guard is played by Clinton Jones. The pair did a fantastic job and deliver their thoughts and emotions perfectly through their facial expressions (given that there is no talking in the game). The fun music in the background was provided by Jimmy Wong while the actual sounds of the video was put together by Kevin Senzaki. But credit goes to Laatsch and Kevin Comerford for masterfully creating the visual effects for the video which can be seen in the Behind t…
