David Tennant and Billie Piper return for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary!

The BBC has just confirmed that David Tennant and Billie Piper have signed on to reprise their roles of the fan favorite characters the Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special! They'll of course be joining Matt Smith who is the current (Eleventh) Doctor and Jenna-Louise Coleman who is the Doctor's newest companion, Clara Oswin Oswald.

The news was reported to be confirmed in next week's Doctor Who Magazine but the official @BBCDoctorWho twitter page has just posted photos of the actors with the hastag #DoctorWho50th as well as an article on the pair's return!

This will be Tennant's first return to the show since his departure in the 2010 episode "The End of Time: Part 2" and Piper's first time back since the same episode. Piper had made previous appearances in several episodes throughout Season 4 and the 2009 Specials after her character's departure in the 2006 Season 2 episode "Doomsday".

Are you excited for the return of the Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler to the show? Are you excited that we will officially have a multi-Doctor story? Let me know what your thoughts are in the comments.
