BBC releases the synopsis for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary episode!

Fans of Doctor Who are anxiously waiting for November 23rd to come so that they can finally see the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary episode that has been on their minds for at least the last year. Fans know that the episode is titled "The Day of the Doctor" but in terms of the actual story, nothing is known. Until now! The BBC has released the official synopsis of the anniversary episode and it is sure to excite fans.

*Possible spoilers past this point.
"The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th anniversary special. In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him."
Could the murderous plot be against Queen Elizabeth who will be making an appearance in the episode? Could the ancient battle spoken about be the Time War? (Which I very much think it is. Then it could be John Hurt's Doctor who ends the time war committing genocide against two races which would be an incredibly dark moment in the Doctor's life.) Is it the Zygons who have been awakened or another evil that we do not yet know about?
