Take a look at this amazing backlit Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles NES mod (short for modification) that D.I.Y./mod magician PlatinumFungi has made! This original Nintendo Entertainment System has had a custom remodel to feature the turtles from TMNT. If you are interested you can actually buy this one of a kind piece of gaming art on Ebay where the current bid is $1,275. "For the past few years, I've been creating 'Backlit NES' systems. I had the idea back in 2009 but at that time I really had no idea how to turn my idea into a reality. Slowly but surely since then I have experimented and improved my techniques with each system I built. This Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles system is the newest and most advanced one yet! To my knowledge, no one has ever created something like this before, so it is currently the FIRST and ONLY of its kind in the ENTIRE WORLD.  Besides the backlit cut out design of the Ninja Turtles on top, there are also custom decals for the AV ports on t…

Fantastic fan film for The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask features Skull Kid! [video]

The fanbase for the video game franchise The Legend of Zelda is a truly creative group of individuals. Take a look at this impressive fan film that features Skull Kid from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
"THE SKULL KID, a harmless but troublesome imp, has been cast out of the city of Clocktown. Deep within the lost woods he must face the harsh realities of his banishment. There, amongst the trees, an ancient evil has also begun to stir, seeking out a creature suitable to become its puppet. " The film is directed, produced, written, edited, and has visual effects done by Jared Potter. Well done, Jared! And I love how the film leads directly into the game. Fans of the Zelda franchise will definitely love this fan film!

Gal Gadot responds to fans' concerns about her casting as Wonder Woman.

Image
Actress Gal Gadot was recently cast as Wonder Woman in the upcoming "Batman vs Superman" film and fan reactions have been widely split. Gadot has now voiced her opinion in an interview with the Israeli TV show "Good Evening with Gai Pines". In the interview she expresses how she feels about some of the issues that fans have been bringing up like her weight/muscle tone and her smaller figure.   "It’s been said that you’re too skinny for the part. Wonder Woman is large-breasted, is that going to change?  Hmm. I represent the Wonder Women of the new world. Breasts… anyone can buy for 9,000 shekels and everything is fine. By the way, Wonder Woman is amazonian, and historically accurate amazonian women actually had only one breast. So, if I’d really go “by the book”…it’d be problematic. So you’re not going to gain a little weight and start eating carbs before filming begins?  It’s the physical preparations that I’m starting now. A very serious training regime – Kun…

Trailer released for the fan film "The Batman Chronicles". [video]

Check out the trailer for the upcoming fan film "The Batman Chronicles"! It definitely looks very interesting so I am excited to see what comes of this. "The official trailer for the upcoming fan film, "The Batman Chronicles", starring Daniel Petruccio and Anthony Misiano, written by Michael Lupia, directed by Joseph Petruccio. Cinematography by Dominick Sivilli. Also starring Gregory Adair, Robert Kabakoff, and Matthew Fitzgerald. For anyone curious, the story is following that of a young Bruce Wayne (taking place maybe only a year or two after "Year One") and his first run in with a soon to be long term adversary. An earnest lieutenant and a corrupt police commissioner also help drive the narrative. Beyond that, you'll have to wait and see. ;)" Enjoy!

Doctor Who - Behind the scenes: The Time of the Doctor & Matt Smith's regeneration! [video]

Join the cast and crew in this brilliant behind-the-scenes video from the Doctor Who Christmas special "The Time of the Doctor" and the filming of the Eleventh Doctor's final adventure and regeneration.

There is a lot of great footage and information in this video. Some fun facts include; Clara's grandmother was in the classic series in a story called "Vengeance on Varos" and Clara's mother (I'm assuming her father remarried since her birth mother died when she was young) was the voice of the ATMOS devices in the story "The Sontaran Stratagem / The Poison Sky". Continue watching to see Matt Smith get choked up reciting his closing speech during the episode read through with the cast and crew and see what Matt was given as a going away gift from the show!

This is a truly great video and it only makes you wish that the behind-the-scenes show Doctor Who Confidential was still around.
*Possible spoilers in the video for the 2013 Christmas special…

Hulk vs Superman - Part 3! [video]

YouTube user Mike Habjan has just posted the third part to his amazing "Hulk vs Superman" fan film that he has been creating. This fight is like something straight out of a comic and is just as thrilling. The two iconic heroes absolutely crush each other. If you have not seen the first parts of the film you can check them out here before watching Part 3 if you want to see how the fight got to where it is.

Part 3 has taken 19 months to finish and has been in production since May 2012. Now that is dedication. And that dedication is clearly visible in this new video. The quality and details in this new video are through the roof compared to the older videos and the fight is really getting good! I cannot wait to see the next part!

New stunt featurette for the film Need For Speed! [video]

Check out this great stunt featurette from the upcoming film adaptation of the video game Need For Speed. In it, stunt coordinator Lance Gilbert walks you through a pivotal stunt scene for the film. The impressive part is that he wanted to do the stunt for real and not have it CG. In order to accomplish this the cars had to be going 200 mph. The stunt looks pretty cool and it is pretty clear that this film will be filled with them. The only question is whether or not the story will be able to match the greatness of the stunts. Only time will tell.

Need for Speed will race into theaters on March 14, 2014.
