San Diego Comic Con - Weekend passes gone, Only single day passes for sale for 2014!

Alright convention goers. It seems like San Diego Comic Con is changing some things this year with their ticket system. Unlike previous years, this year attendees will not be able to purchase a weekend pass to the convention. San Diego Comic Con is only selling single day passes. That's right! And the real interesting part is that if you plan to attend to "Preview Night" on Wednesday, you are required to purchase passes for all four other days.

Right now there is no official reason given to explain this switch in policy but the general consensus seems to think that this could be the conventions way of getting different types of people to attend their convention over the course of the weekend. This is however very interesting as San Diego Comic Con is a convention that people fly to from all over the world to attend for the weekend. Will people still be willing to fly out for a single day? Will they be willing to buy 4-5 separate passes just to attend for the weekend? The answers are most likely yes but the interesting part will come when you actually look to purchase the passes. Will you be able to buy all the single day passes together in one shot? Or will they have a limit on how many can be bought at a single time? When registration opens later this year it will be very interesting to see how all of this works out.

Be warned though that passes have gone up in price this year as well. An adult pass to the convention for Preview Night (Wednesday) is $35, Thursday through Saturday is $45 (up $3 from last year), and Sunday will be $30 (up $6 from last year).

There is no word yet when registration will open but watch the San Diego Comic Con website for further updates.
