David Goyer admits that Warner Bros. has no current plans to create a united DC cinematic universe.

At the moment, Marvel has achieved box office greatness with their films and having them connected into one big Marvel cinematic universe. So now fans are looking to DC to follow suit and become big themselves. DC however has yet to do this and has been struggling to keep up with the momentum that Marvel has built.

David Goyer, writer behind Christopher Nolan's Batman series and the recent Man of Steel film, sat down with IGN and was questioned about DC's cinematic universe and whether or not Warner Bros. had intentions to bring their films together. Unfortunately, he states that at the moment Warner Bros. has no plans to do so. When asked if he felt any pressure to do it he replied,
"I mean, yes and no. Look, we've been pretty lucky with the films we've done so far. I think right now it's just kind of, "More of the same, please." I'm trying to branch off with Sandman."
Goyer had also on commenting on Marvel's success.
"You have to admire what Marvel's done. It's really hard to create a brand, I mean, where people will follow your brand. Pixar's done it, and now Marvel has done it. It's really, really hard to do, because there's not a lot of brand loyalty anymore. They've created a cohesive universe, so I really admire what they've done."
So now that word is out that Warner Bros. has no current plans to create a larger DC cinematic universe can they hold up against Marvel by simply releasing individual franchises?
