New Nintendo Direct for Mario Kart 8 is filled with great new information! [video]
Today's Mario Kart 8 Direct from Nintendo was an unexpected surprise! The Direct had a new format which worked well and it delivered a lot of new information about the game. You can watch the Direct below but settle in as the video is 36 minutes long. You'll hear developers talk about anti-gravity races, kart customization, new items, which may be the fastest vehicles, online gameplay, multiplayer modes, and the game's music! It also shares some brief facts about the Mario Kart games through Nintendo's history.
Next developers talk about the new drivers entering the competition which include the Koopalings (Larry, Roy, Iggy, Lemmy, Morton, Wendy, and Ludwig), Baby Rosalina, and Pink Gold Peach. The Koopalings are cool but I would have liked some new additions rather than Baby Rosalina, and Pink Gold Peach (which is a metalic version of the princess).
There was also big news for those that pick up the game! If you buy the game and register it at Club Nintendo before July 31, 2014 you'll receive a free download code for 1 of 4 Wii U game titles that include New Super Mario Bros. U, Pikmin 3, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, or Wii Party U. Now that is a great deal! Two games for the price of one!
There will also be a Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundle which comes with the black Wii U Delux console, Mario Kart 8 game, a red Wii Steering wheel accessory, and a red Mario Wii remote plus controller for $330. Very nice!
