Peter Mayhew returns as Chewbacca for Star Wars: Episode VII!

GREAT NEWS! It is being reported by The Hollywood Reporter that actor Peter Mayhew will reprise his role as the iconic Chewbacca in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII! Mayhew played the role of Chewbacca in all three Star Wars films in the original trilogy, Episodes IV-VI, and in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. Mayhew is currently 69 years old and has undergone several surgeries through recent years for different health issues. If there are any more physical aspects of the role for certain scenes they'll probably have a stunt double come in for Mayhew. It's certainly great news that both the character Chewbacca and actor Peter Mayhew will be back in the next film!

Star Wars: Episode VII will hit theaters on December 15, 2015.
