Star Wars Episode VII cast is finally revealed!

The speculation is over! Disney and Lucas Film have finally revealed the cast of the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII that will be directed by J.J. Abrams!

Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will be joining the Star Wars family alongside original actors Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in Star Wars: Episode VII.

J.J. Abrams made a statement about the cast announcement saying,
"We are so excited to finally share the cast of 'Star Wars: Episode VII.' It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud."
Rumors have been floating around about the return of the original cast but it's such great news to hear it from Disney themselves and to finally get the names of the new cast members that will be joining them! Are you excited about the announced names? Do you think Andy Serkis will be playing a character himself or step into a motion capture suit to be a creature/humanoid of some sort? Is anyone else a little surprised at the lack of female roles in this film? But then again the Star Wars films have never been a female heavy cast. Still strange though.

Star Wars: Episode VII is set to open in theaters on December 18, 2015.
