New world record speed run for Super Mario Bros. is set! [video]

The impossible has been done! The world record speed run for Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) has just been beaten! The old record run had the entire game beaten in 4:58:09. Gamer "Blubbler" has beaten that record and created a new fastest time of 4:57:69. This new fastest time came courtesy of a glitch at the end of level 8-2 that allowed Blubbler to hit the end flag pole and skip the walk over to the castle. This glitch was no fault of the gamer so the time counts. In the description of the video Bubbler also provides fans with a detailed description of why certain things that looked "wrong" in his run were actually not. Like touching piranha plants for example. Congrats to Bubbler on the new record!
