Meet Hera - the pilot of the Ghost on Star Wars Rebels! [video]

It seems when reporting about the cast of the new Star Wars show Star Wars Rebels, I unknowlingly left one out! Well we cant have that so let me introduce you to Hera Syndulla! Hera is a Twi'lek who will be voiced by actress Vanessa Marshall. Hera will be our rebel team's pilot of the Ghost who can hold her own in a fight. She will be a strong willed character who is said to hold the rebel group together. Executive producer Dave Filoni also added, "Like every member of the Ghost team, she has her reasons for rebelling against the Empire. Uncovering those reasons will be part of the Star Wars Rebels story," Sounds great! This will be a fun character to see develop throughout the show.

The Flash's new costume is revealed in the first promotional photo from the CW!

Image
The CW has just unveiled via Twitter the first promotional photograph of actor Grant Gustin as The Flash! The character of Barry Allen, aka The Flash, was introduced to fans this season on Arrow and will soon have his own spin off series this fall.

Unfortunately, the photograph is just a profiled headshot but on the plus side it looks amazing! From the photo we see that the costume will have a darker shade of red which keeps in tradition of the Arrow universe. The designer added a chin-piece to the cowl which I actually think looks pretty good. We'll have to wait and see and what the rest of the outfit will look like but I am curious to see whether the costume will sport the traditional chest logo and belt. From what I see here, I can say that it's looking really good so far.

What do you think of the new promotional photo for The Flash?  *Click image to enlarge.

If The Legend of Zelda had cops! [video]

Take a look at this really funny video from Dorkly that focuses on the video game The Legend of Zelda. All gamers know the famous line from the start of this classic game, "It's dangerous to go alone. Take this." Well according to Dorkly, that moment would have gone much different if there were cops in the land of Hyrule. Watch this great video to see how the scene, and the game, would have changed if cops were patrolling Hyrule.

RBS' Cosplay Closet - Playable Nintendo Gameboy cosplay! [video]

Image
As far as cosplays go, this one is definitely one of the coolest you'll see. One cosplayer attended Ohayocon 2014 in Columbus, Ohio as a fully functioning Nintendo Gameboy! Now that is awesome.

The cosplay runs on a Raspberry Pi and can run various games via interchangeable game cartridges that are proportional in size to the cosplay! Very cool. In the video below you see Dr. Mario and Tetris being played.

This is surely one cosplay that is bound to get a lot of attention at a convention and bound to start up some great and fun conversations.

I haven't found out who this cosplayer is yet but he did an amazing job on a really fun cosplay. Great work!

Possible new companion is cast for Doctor Who!

Image
It appears as though the Doctor may be getting a new companion on the hit British sci-fi show Doctor Who. The BBC announced that actor Samuel Anderson will be playing a character named Danny Pink, who also happens to be a teacher at Coal Hill School (the same school where current companion Clara Oswald is teaching and where companions to the first Doctor, Ian and Barbara, taught).

Steven Moffat had this to say about the announcement of the character:
"For the fourth time in Doctor Who history, Coal Hill School is coming to the aid of the TARDIS. In 1963 teachers Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright accompanied the First Doctor. These days it’s the turn of Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald. And very soon now, Sam Anderson as Danny Pink will be entering the world of the Doctor. But how and why? Answers are coming later this year in Peter Capaldi’s first series of Doctor Who!"
Actor Sam Anderson is quite excited to be a part of the show stating, "I was so excited to join Doctor…

New character poster for Captain America: The Winter Soldier features Falcon!

Image
A new poster has surfaced for Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier and this one features the new comer Falcon who will be played by actor Anthony Mackie. I have to say that I really like that look that Falcon has in this film. I think it was smart to forego giving him his comic style suit and just strap the wings to him. It's a great look that really works. I'm excited to see how big a role he will have in the film and to see how the character will be portrayed. This is going to be a great film!

The original show ran from 2006-2010 and for a time was ranked television's #1 new drama. Although the show ran into some trouble after Season 1, fans remained loyal to find out what would happen to their new favorite characters. (Stay tuned for a separate article on the original show and it's ups and downs.)

It was announced by NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke that the new show will be titled Heroes Reborn and will air in 2015 along with its original creator and executive producer Tim Kring.

At the moment, NBC seems to be focusing on a single contained story arc which is smart. NBC has ordered 13 episodes for a single season but is keeping all details about the show a secret. That is what the show did in the first season of Heroes will wild success.
