The Amazing Spider-Man 2 gets an unexpected X-Men: Days of Future Past post credits scene! Find out why!

Image
Fans overseas who went to see The Amazing Spider-Man 2 today were caught off guard by a new unexpected post credits scene. To their surprise there is a new sequence for X-Men: Days of Future Past at the end of the film. The scene features a fight sequence with Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique.

At first thought fans may get excited about a possible crossover featuring Spider-Man and the X-Men. Unfortunately, this is not the case at all. So then why is Sony promoting a film from 20th Century Fox?
"“Spider-Man” director Marc Webb had an existing contract with Fox Searchlight to helm another film following 2009′s “500 (Days) of Summer.” After “The Amazing Spider-Man” in 2012, Webb’s negotiations briefly stalled with Sony as he was caught in a tug-of-war with Fox. Eventually, Fox agreed to allow Webb to direct Sony’s “Spider-Man” sequel, but only if Sony would promote its “X-Men” film for free." So unfortunately we will not be getting an awesome Spider-Man / X-Men crossover b…

Game of Thrones crosses over with Uncanny X-Men #141's iconic Days of Future Past cover!

Image
Take a look at this fun piece of art that brings together the hit HBO show Game of Thrones and the iconic cover to Uncanny X-Men #141 (original comic cover created by John Byrne). The creators of the piece, Comfort Love and Adam Withers, took the look of the classic comic cover (which happens to be the comic that starts the "Days of Future Past" storyline) and added the characters Jon Snow, Tyrion Lannister, and Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones to it.
"So, this was an idea that Adam was shocked - SHOCKED - had not been done yet. When it occurred to him, he scoured the Googles to see whether anybody else had done it, but nothing came up. So here he is, sitting on this goldmine idea. In case anybody isn’t getting the reference, this piece is an homage to the classic John Byrne cover to Uncanny X-Men #141 - the start of the Days of Future Past storyline. With the upcoming movie, you’ll probably be seeing this cover more often. Adam selected Dany, Tyrion, a…

Anna Paquin's Rogue will appear in X-Men: Days of Future Past after all!

Image
X-Men fans were disappointed last December when director Bryan Singer revealed that Anna Paquin's Rogue was unfortunately cut from X-Men: Days of Future Past. However, fans with a good eye may have noticed in the final trailer that Anna Paquin is credited at the end.

A 20th Century Fox representative told BuzzFeed that Paquin is back in the film but that, "Essentially, [it’s] a cameo." A cameo may not be what fans were hoping for when it comes to the character of Rogue but at least she is now in the film.

Are you excited to hear that Anna Paquin's Rogue will be in X-Men: Days of Future Past? Are you still upset that it'll only be a cameo?

X-Men: Days of Future Past will be in theaters on May 23, 2014.

Alternate versions of the symbiote Spider-Man suit and Venom suit surface from Spider-Man 3! [video]

Image
Last August I reported on an alternate symbiote suit for Spider-Man 3and shared a photo of Spider-Man in the suit. I personally thought it looked amazing but director Sam Raimi did not agree. Now another alternate suit has popped up but this time it is for the symbiote suit worn by the character Venom. Ultimately, Venom was a big let down for many fans, myself included, and the alternate suit show below is worse than what we saw on screen. (Just look at the mouth. Yikes.)Take a look at both alternate suits below as well as a video that explains the suits and why they weren't used. I still feel its a real shame that they didn't use the alternate Spider-Man suit shown. It's more like the suit seen in the comics and looks great. Let me know what you think of the suits in the comments.

New featurette for the film The Giver may comfort fans of the classic book. [video]

A brand new featurette has been released for The Giver and it may just deliver a few pieces of comfort to fans out there who were worried about the film after watching the first trailer. This new featurette shows off the film's black and white elements as well as the infamous apple from the novel. You'll also get to see the author of The Giver Lois Lowry talk about the book and the questions that it raises about society. It seems from this new video that the film may transition from black and white to color but hopefully it does it in a way that is clever and smooth in the story telling. Although it worked, I rather not have this be something like Pleasantville which was cheesy (even if it was in a good way). Watch the featurette below and let me know what you think about it and how the film is shaping up to be.

The Giver will be in theaters on August 15, 2014.

Actor Paul Bettany appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and during the interview he was questioned about his role of JARVIS (Tony Stark's computer) in the Iron Man films and his upcoming role as the character Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Bettany spoke about the new experience of having an on screen role for Marvel by stating, "It's very exciting for me, but everything is a double edged sword, right? Because I was playing JARVIS for years and my job was I would turn up at a recording studio for 45 minutes, do all my stuff, and then they would give me a huge bag of cash and then I'd go home. Now it turns out they've found me out and they want me to actually do something!" Bettany couldn't speak about which specific comic powers he will have in the film but seems very excited to take on the role.
