Watch a pumpkin be carved into a R2-D2 influenced pumpkin/candy droid named OCT-3.1 for Halloween! [Video]

To celebrate Halloween, Greg Aronowitz from BarnyardFX took an ordinary pumpkin and carved it out and added some candy fixtures to make it look like R2-D2. Even better is that he added some motors to it so that it would have moving parts! Check out the creation of this newest droid, named OCT-3.1, below! Enjoy!

J.K. Rowling releases a Harry Potter mini-story for Dolores Umbridge's backstory!

Image
As promised, it is Halloween and J.K. Rowling has released a new "story" about one of the iconic characters from her Harry Potter book franchise! (She recently did the same thing for the character Celestina Warbeck which is definitely worth reading.)

This new story focuses on Dolores Umbridge, Slytherin, Senior Undersecretary to the Minister for Magic, Professor of Defense Against The Dark Arts, High Inquisitor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and Head Mistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (the latter three only for a short time).  "The story of Dolores Jane Umbridge  Dolores Jane Umbridge was the eldest child and only daughter of Orford Umbridge, a wizard, and Ellen Cracknell, a Muggle, who also had a Squib son. Dolores’ parents were unhappily married, and Dolores secretly despised both of them: Orford for his lack of ambition (he had never been promoted, and worked in the Department of Magical Maintenance at the Ministry of Magic), and he…

Star Wars Top 10 - Monsters! [video]

"In this installment of the StarWars.com 10, we’re picking the best creatures of Star Wars, from Tatooine terrors to Hoth horrors.

For this list, we're focusing on monsters from the Star Wars films and Star Wars: The Clone Wars only, ranking them on design, impact, and scare factor."

Top 10 Star Wars monsters:
"10. Nexu - Kicking off our list is the Nexu: a hideous mix of feline and rodent. This smaller, quicker, more animal-like creature brings an unnerving eye-level element to Star Wars monsters. Pro-tip: avoid close-encounters.

9. Dianoga - The first real creature seen in a Star Wars movie, the dianoga is a slimy, tentacled menace with a taste for Jedi trainees. The dianoga’s ability to stay hidden makes it even more frightening: You know it’s lurking, watching, and waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

8. Brain Worm - If you can’t tell by its name, the brain worm is the hands down winner in the creepy department. This slithering parasite enters a host through …

Could we see a new Avengers team by the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron?

Image
Fan knew that it would be coming but Marvel Studios head, Kevin Feige, has just confirmed some pretty big news concerning the Avengers team for the upcoming film.

*Potential Spoilers ahead*

While talking to Buzzfeed, Fiege commented on how the Avengers team on the big screen up until this point has been run the same way as the comics. They all have their own adventures but when the time called for it they would come together to defeat the big villain. Up until this point fans know the team as Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye. We of course know that in Avengers: Age of Ultron that Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, and Vision will be either joining the team or become allies with the Avengers but it seems that much more than that is going to happen by the end of the film.

It appears that by the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron that fans could be looking at an altered roster for the iconic team.
"The Avengers films, ideally, in the grand plan are always big, …

The Simpsons showrunner shares how he would want to end the show when the time comes and it's brilliant!

Image
Al Jean is the current showrunner for the hit Fox show The Simpsons, but in 1989 when the show first started he was just a writer. During a recent interview with CNN Jean commented how he believes the show should end when the time comes. Currently, the show is in its 26th season and going strong so who knows when the end will come. When it does however, Jean came up with a brilliantly clever idea that fans may really love. (I do.)
"However, there is an ending I've always had in mind, which was, I thought it would be cool if in the last episode they're getting ready to go to a Christmas pageant, and they go to the Christmas pageant that opens up the first episode, "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire," so the entire series is a loop with no end. That would be my way of concluding the run, but nobody has asked me for it yet."
I think this is an absolutely brilliant ending and I would love it if this were used. How do you feel about this kind of an ending? Do y…

Furry Potter and The Goblet of Cookies - A Sesame Street and Harry Potter mash-up! [video]

Things got magical on Sesame Street when Cookie Monster, aka Furry Potter, found out about the "Goblet of Cookies". I absolutely love all these movie parodies that Sesame Street has been doing. 500 point to Sesame Street!
"To get to the Goblet of Cookies, Furry Potter must listen carefully to directions. It's going to take more than a simple Wingardium Leviosa to reach the Goblet. Watch Professor Crumblemore teach Furry Potter the wizardly ways of following instructions in his quest for the Goblet of Cookies!" Enjoy!

PS- I love that Cookie Monster is playing quidditch!
PPS- Anybody find it funny that Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw were excluded from the cookies?

Marvel in negotiations with Benedict Cumberbatch for Doctor Strange role!

Image
It seems after a long wait and many rumors that Marvel has found its sorcerer supreme!

Deadline is reporting that Marvel is about to enter negotiations with actor Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, Star Trek Into Darkness) for the role of Doctor Strange.

This is not a done deal just yet and nothing has been signed but it seems that both sides are interested to make this happen and I would be surprised if it doesn't go through.

The character of Doctor Strange was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and first appeared in Strange Tales #110 in 1963. Steven Strange was at one time a brilliant neurosurgeon but after a bad car accident he lost the precision that he once had in his hands, a skill vital to his work. Strange then decides to go on a quest to regain his skills which leads him on the path to the mystical arts.

I personally am not that thrilled about this casting. I feel that Cumberbatch is at the moment a very overrated actor and is not the perfect fit for this role. I can only …
