Marvel announces A-Force, an all-female Avengers team!

Marvel Comics made a big announcement today when they announced the creation of a new superhero team that will take center stage during the upcoming "Secret Wars" storyline. The Avengers will no longer be around and it looks like the team taking their spot will be known as A-Force. The great thing about this new team is that A-Force will be made up entirely of female superheroes! The new comic will be co-written by G. Willow Wilson (Ms. Marvel) and Marguerite Bennett (Angela), along with art from Jorge Molina.

This new team looks like it will be led by She-Hulk, and will include members such as Dazzler, Medusa, Nico Minoru, Jean Grey, Vampira, Elektra, and a new hero named Singularity that is cosmically powered.

Discussing this new team, co-writer G. Willow Wilson stated,
"“We've purposefully assembled a team composed of different characters from disparate parts of the Marvel U, with very different power sets, identities and ideologies.”
And there came a day, a day unlike any other, when Earth's mightiest heroines found themselves united against a common threat. On that day, A-Force was born—to fight the foes no single Super Hero could withstand! Their glory will never been denied! Heed the call, A-Force Assemble!"
Although this is not the first all female comic to be released by Marvel it is the first all female Avengers team. Are you excited to see what A-Force has in store for it's fans? Do you like the revealed members so far?
