Sony is opening up the Ghostbusters universe; another Ghostbusters film is on the way with a male cast.

When news officially hit that Paul Feig would be creating a new Ghostbusters film with an all female cast fans were wildly split on whether this was a good thing or not. During all the interviews surrounding this new film original Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd and director Ivan Reitman kept talking about a larger Ghostbusters universe and building the franchise. It appears that they weren't kidding.

It is being reported that Joe and Anthony Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War) are being looked at to direct another Ghostbusters film that will incorporate a male cast. Also being attached to this new film are Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3, Mission: Impossible 5) who will be the film's writer and Channing Tatum who will produce and star in the film.

This film is being said to be a companion piece to Paul Feig's all female cast Ghostbuters and will be the film film released by the new production company that will be titled "Ghost Corp" which will include Ivan Reitman and Dan Aykroyd.
"“We want to expand the Ghostbusters universe in ways that will include different films, TV shows, merchandise, all things that are part of modern filmed entertainment,” Reitman told me. “This is a branded entertainment, a scary supernatural premise mixed with comedy. Paul Feig’s film will be the first version of that, shooting in June to come out in July 2016. He’s got four of the funniest women in the world, and there will be other surprises to come. The second film has a wonderful idea that builds on that. Drew will start writing and the hope is to be ready for the Russo Brothers’ next window next summer to shoot, with the movie coming out the following year. It’s just the beginning of what I hope will be a lot of wonderful movies.”"
How do you feel about the news that the Ghostbusters franchise will officially broaden into a larger universe and that there will be a new male led Ghostbusters on the way as well?
