Tim Burton will directing a live action Dumbo film. Is Disney out of ideas?
I have to admit that I did not see this one coming. Lately, Disney has been remaking a lot of it's Disney (Animated) Classics into live action films. You have Maleficent, Cinderella being released soon with Beauty and the Beast close behind it. Now you will be getting Dumbo. Yes, you read that correct. Disney will be creating a live action adaptation of the film with Tim Burton ready to direct. With all these live action adaptations coming out, you have to wonder if Disney is out of ideas or simply biding their time as they create bigger films in the background.
The lovable film about an elephant with ears so big he can fly will be brought back to the big screen with what is being reported as a larger story. It'll be interesting to see how this is all brought to the screen as many sections of this film, especially those between Dumbo and his mother, were incredibly sad.
Are you excited to see Disney creating a live action Dumbo film?
PS- If Johnny Depp or Helena Bonham Carter pop up in this film I will be surely disappointed.
