Mr Sunday Movies returns with an all new Easter egg video for Jurassic World and he does a great job at pointing out many of them. He points out one or two that I missed myself but I also caught some that he seems to have missed. But I would first like to say that I do not support the fan theory that the kid from the original film that Dr. Grant scares about the velociraptor turned into Owen. I heard that before this video and it is people reaching and trying to make connections. It is not true in my mind.

Some Easter eggs that are not mentioned in this video are:

  • Ian Malcolm's book is seen on the desk of the control room worker Lowery (Jake Johnson).
  • The T-Rex smashes through the Spinosaurus skeleton during the fight with the Indominus Rex as a nod to their fight in Jurassic Park 3.
  • Karen (Judy Greer) tells her sons to answer he calls by "pushing the green button" on their cell phones. This is a reference to John Hammond telling Dr. Ellie Sattler to restore power to the park by pushing the "round, green button" in Jurassic Park.
  • From the monorail you see a Jeep driving my a group of running Gallimimus as a nod to the scene from the original where Dr. Alan Grant, Lex, and Tim run besides the same dinosaur.
  • The first time we see the Indominus Rex we only see her blinking eye through trees and brush which is similar to the shot in the original where we see a velociraptor the same way.
  • Owen and Claire tend to the dying Apatosaurus similar to how Dr. Alen Grant and Dr. Ellie Sattler tend to the sick triceratops in the original film.
  • Characters looking into their review mirrors while driving away from the escaped dinosaurs is a nod to the famous "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear" scene with the T-Rex from the original film.
  • At one point a velociraptor attempts to jump in the back of the truck where Gray and Zach are while they struggle to turn on the electric prod similar to Lex and Tim struggling to turn off the flashlight in the original film.
If there are any other references that Mr Sunday Movies or myself missed please let me know! I'd love to find more references in this film!
