Two main characters, including the villain, are revealed for the new Power Rangers film!

Earlier today I posted an article on how the director of the film, Dean Israelite, commented on the tone of the film which is said to be playful yet mature.

Now new information has surfaced about two main characters from the film and one of them will be the film's main villain!

Being reported by Heroic Hollywood, it is looking like the main villain of the film will be a fan favorite; Rita Repulsa! Rita Repulsa! Rita is so far being described as:

"“A huntress. A striking, yet subtly alien-looking woman. She carries a metallic staff topped with a distinctive crescent shape. Advances with a soldier’s confidence, guided by some sort of compass... Her staff is actually a device of immense power. She points it at the ground. Heads emerge, built layer upon layer like 3-D printing, made from the earth itself... The staff’s technology grants her the ability to create humanoid figures, soulless and robotic.”"

I am not at all surprised to see that Rita would be making a return for this film. She is the main villain that started it all. It seems fitting to let her come back to start it all again.

Next, Heroic Hollywood reveals a prologue for the film which reveals a second returning character.

"I'm also told that we first meet Rita in the prologue of the film which takes place during the cretaceous period, on the last day of the dinosaurs on Earth. Rita fights that period's Power Rangers. The Red Ranger is also fan favorite ZORDON!"

Zordon is being described as:

"“Though alien, he looks like a man in his 50s. Sinewy and strong, as if carved from some root that refused to die. A being of integrity and iron will.”"

Both Rita Repulsa and Zordon are making a comeback and Zordon was once a Red Ranger?! That is some pretty amazing news!

Power Rangers is currently set to be in theaters on January 13, 2017.
