It looks like Sony and Marvel have found, and cast, their actress to portray Aunt May opposite to Tom Holland's Spider-Man! It was announced today that Marisa Tomei (The Wrestler, My Cousin Vinny) has been cast in the role!

At the moment there are no definite details on how large a role Marisa Tomei's Aunt May will play in the Spider-Man films but it is being rumored that, like Spider-Man, Aunt May may make an appearance in Captain America: Civil War. It'll be very interesting to see what kind of a role she'll have. It could honestly even be as small as her watching a press conference with the Avengers and Spidey on TV from her living room or a store.
A lot of people are going to be up in arms about Tomei's casting saying that she is too young but it should be pointed out that Tom Holland, who is 19 himself, will be playing a 15-16 year old Peter Parker and Marisa Tomei is 50. So the age is perfect. She just looks good for her age.

I love it. Marisa Tomei's great and it's a crazy enough piece of casting to work.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I think this could be really great. We do not yet know how they'll have her look and they could age her a tiny bit, you knows. Shes a great actress who will breath new life into the role.
