Celebrate sound designer Ben Burtt's work with the video "The Sounds of Star Wars".

The Sounds of Star Wars from Rishi Kaneria on Vimeo.

Thanks to sound designer Ben Burtt, sounds from the Star Wars franchise have become some of the most widely known sounds in the film industry. Who could forget the sound of Darth Vader breathing, the hum of a lightsaber, the engines of a TIE fighter, or even R2-D2's beeps and boops.

This great video from Rishe Kaneria celebrates "The Sounds of Star Wars" and compiles a long list of sounds from the original trilogy (Episodes IV-VI).
"In 1977, with the release of "Star Wars: A New Hope," Ben Burtt introduced a new lexicon of sounds into our aural vocabulary.
This video is a celebration of those iconic sounds that have been rattling around my head since childhood and that have since become ingrained in our collective pop culture psyche.
It is also a celebration of Ben Burtt's genius."
I love that at the end of the video there is a scene included of Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi from A New Hope having a lightsaber duel without the sound effects to show you what the scene sounded like before Ben Burtt worked on it.

What is your favorite sound effect from the Star Wars franchise?
