Official Chinese music video for Star Wars: The Force Awakens is delightfully awful.

Wow. In a move to boost numbers in China, Disney and Lucasfilm partnered with Chinese pop star Lu Han to create an official Star Wars: The Force Awakens music video. The result is rather entertaining. The original Star Wars trilogy was only released in China last year so it makes sense that they would give this market a big push for the new film. The video is extremely cheesy and fans will surely get a kick out of these unique lyrics. (Most was probably lost in translation.) I wonder how this did over in its main market.

  1. It did very well, indeed. Luhan is a former member of massively popular K-pop group EXO, and is making bank now back home in his native China. As for the lyrics, I have a feeling a LOT is lost in translation, as usual. Amusingly, for the Korean promotions, the official musical tie-in went to none other than EXO.
