Indiana Jones is coming back for a fifth film with Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford.

Indy is back! That's right. Disney has officially announced that Steven Spielberg will be back to direct actor Harrison Ford in a fifth installment in the Indiana Jones franchise.

Disney Chairman Alan Horn stated,
"“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019. It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”"
Kathleen Kennedy, Lucasfilm President, and her husband Frank Marshall will produce the new film. This is quite promising as both have been a part of the franchise since Raiders of the Lost Ark. This will be the first film to not include former LucasFilm president George Lucas who many blame the less than stellar Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on. So that can be looked at as a positive as well.

Are you excited to see Indy back on the big screen?

The new Indiana Jones will be in theaters on July 19, 2019.
