Brilliant video explains how Ghostbusters grew beyond the script and became an iconic film.

Image
Films don't always perform as well as they should when they get to the box office and on rare occasions they perform better than they should. The latter seems to happen more with comedies thanks to improv done while filming that deviated from the script in a great way but it happens in other genres as well.

In this video, Lessons From The Screenplay takes a look at the differences from the Ghostbusters screenplay and the finished product and analyzes why the film became a bigger success than it should have been. They look at what was changed and why it worked.

"The screenplay for Ghostbusters is actually pretty underwhelming if you only focus on the details. But if you zoom out and look at the macro-scale of writing — coming up with a premise and figuring out how to execute it — Ghostbusters stands as a great example of the importance of execution. It’s not just what your story is about, it’s how you tell it."
Enjoy.

See how many times Batman killed in Batman v Superman in this great Kill Count video.

Image
Batman doesn't normally kill the criminals that he fights but Ben Affleck's Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice saw this more as a guideline than a rule. Mr Sunday Movies has created a great video that points out all the times that Batman killed in the film in one big Kill Count video.

Here were Mr Sunday Movies' guidelines for collecting the number of kills.
"1) If you're in a car and the batmobile hits you you're probably dead.
2) I only counted the two in the backseat that get's a car flipped on it because it only hits the back end. Also I'm not entirely convinced they're dead. But whatever non of this means anything. Also Nick Mason said it was okay.
3) I didn't count the guy Batman punches onto his neck, he probably lived through that. Maybe I dunno.
4) The man Batman stabbed looked like it was in the shoulder, though I might be wrong.
5) I didn't count the ones branded because they're fairly indirect kills.
6) I had othe…

Tony Stark will be replaced by a 15 year old back girl as Iron Man in Marvel Comics.

Image
Marvel Comics has become very diverse with their characters in the last few years and they are taking another step to continue that trend in the book Invincible Iron Man. After the events in Civil War II, it appears as though Tony Stark will be stepping away from his armor and that a character named Riri Williams will be taking his place. To excite readers even further, Riri is a 15 year old black female. Riri is a MIT student who is incredibly smart and may be beyond where Tony was at that age. She even reverse engineered one of Tony's old Iron Man suits and rebuilt it herself for her own purposes.

While talking to TIME, Brian Michael Bendis spoke out about this new character and her taking over as Iron Man stating,
"Thankfully because of my involvement in the creation of Miles Morales and Jessica Jones and some other characters, it’s getting the benefit of the doubt from even the most surly fans. There are fans who say, “Show us the new stuff,” and then there are fans who …

A Captain America statue will be heading to Brooklyn to commemorate his 75th Anniversary.

Image
This year will be marking the 75th Anniversary of Marvel's Captain America and to commemorate the event a 13 foot tall bronze statue is being created to dedicate the hero. The statue will be revealed at San Diego Comic Con (July 20-24) and then will travel to it's permanent location in Prospect Park, Brooklyn on August 10, 2016. 10 actors/actresses who hated their superhero costumes in films.

Image
Costumes in superhero movies can make or break the film. Unfortunately, even if the costumes are perfect they aren't always the most comfortable things to be dressed in (or in some cases not dressed in). Screen Rant has created a wonderful video that looks at 10 actors and actresses who hated the superhero costume that they wore for their films. This list include Malin Akerman as Silk Spectre 2, Ryan Reynolds as the Green Lantern, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and more. Take a look at who made the list and see if you agree about why they didn't like their costumes.
